Shelley Carlisle

Social: FB, IG, TIKTOK @shelleycarlisleartist
Bio: Through her professional landscape and wildlife photography, Shelly has found a path to channel my deep connection with the Divine Feminine and Mother Nature, with the creation of hand-crafted analog Goddess collages. She celebrates herstories and revered divinities from ancient & modern cultures that are aligned with the natural cycles of the universe, earth, and the moon, dark and light, death and rebirth. The symbolic and metaphorical representations are focused on the beautiful power of each of these entities, not the devalued, horrific, monsters they were made into by dictatorial religion or the patriarchal Gods. She hopes to inspire exploration of your inner Sacred Feminine and reveal a special energy with nature and spirituality. In 2023, she won the Collage Artist of the Year Award at the Art Comes Alive competition and show with ADC Fine Art, and in 2022 received the Mills College Nancy Cook Fellowship Award. Shelly exhibits her work in solo and group shows, and juried art fairs throughout California and neighboring states and have been a photographic finalist in many competitions. In 2022, Shelly received a Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art degree from Mills College, Oakland California, and resides in Nevada City, CA.

Bio: Ashley Gottlieb is a visual artist based in Reno, Nevada whose work explores a playful, yet reverent relationship to the world’s natural places. Through abstraction, she distills the essence of her experiences from travel and exploring landscapes in a visually simplified and deeply expressive way—transforming these moments into bold colors, organic shapes, and dynamic compositions. In an increasingly complex world, her work offers a pause and a space to reconnect with nature, as well as deepen our appreciation and stewardship of the landscapes that inspire her. Gottlieb loves to “go big” and fantasizes about creating murals and larger artworks in unexpected places. Originally from Chicago, she received her B.A. in Communications from Knox College (2005), but discovered art after moving to Reno in 2018. She received her A.A. in Fine Arts from Truckee Meadows Community College (2022). Her work has been exhibited widely in the Reno area and Northern Nevada.

Beck Baumann
Website: beckbaumann.com
Social: IG @beckbaumann
Bio: Beck Baumann (b. 1975) is a Reno-based, mixed media artist who specializes in covering three-dimensional wall art and sculptures with sequins. Beck’s art is inspired by childhood memories of games, food, movies and toys. She likes to take these concepts and then combine and twist them in unexpected ways while covering her artwork in thousands of sequins. In Beck’s world, there are candy-covered creatures, strange sequined foods, and too many eyeballs to count. Her artwork celebrates the inner child’s world that is full of magic and possibilities. Sequins have been Beck’s primary medium since 2020. As a self-taught artist, she was inspired by a mid century craft where styrofoam fruits or ornaments were covered with sequins and beads that were pinned in place. In Beck’s process, a styrofoam understructure is carved and painted, and then a variety of sequined fabrics, trims, and loose sequins are glued and pinned in place. She incorporates garbage styrofoam and thrifted sequined clothes into her work whenever possible to give these items a second life. This mix of materials gives her the freedom to make anything that comes to mind.

Tanya James
Website: Coming Soon
Social: IG @Intuitiveartist888
Bio: Tanya James is a mixed media artist whose work bridges the intuitive flow of neurographic art with the tactile depth of ceramics and the luminous spontaneity of liquid watercolor. She holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Nevada, Reno, and currently teaches high school ceramics in the Washoe County School District. Her dual roles as educator and artist inform a practice grounded in reflection, transformation, and creative exploration. A central focus of Tanya’s ceramic work is the creation of expressive masks, where neurographic linework is carved into clay to map internal emotion and subconscious thought onto the human form. These masks act as symbolic portraits—vessels for healing, identity, and self-inquiry. Alongside her ceramic work, Tanya creates fluid, vibrant watercolor pieces that capture the spontaneity and energy of intuitive mark-making. Whether working in clay or on paper, Tanya combines structure and spontaneity to explore the intersections of neuroscience, mindfulness, and material expression. Her work invites viewers—and her students—to consider art as both a personal and communal process. Through exhibitions, workshops, and teaching, she shares neurographic art as a powerful tool for growth, connection, and emotional awareness.
