Long before National Cocoa Day was ever on our radar, our original ski-town restaurant in Truckee, California was serving up mugs of cocoa to cold, happy people coming in from the snow. Back then, we started piling the whipped cream so high it looked like a mountain worth skiing down, finished with a blizzard of rainbow sprinkles that made kids gasp and adults grin. It wasn’t fancy. It wasn’t fussy. It was just pure, simple joy in a mug, and it quickly became part of the Squeeze In experience.
Decades later, not much has changed about that hot chocolate. The mugs are still warm between your hands, the whipped cream is still stacked into those signature “snowcaps,” and the rainbow sprinkles are still falling like confetti. When you order hot chocolate at Squeeze In on National Cocoa Day—or any chilly morning, really—you’re getting more than a drink. You’re getting a little piece of our Truckee heritage and the playful, generous spirit that helped shape who we are.

Our hot chocolate sits right alongside the plates that made us a favorite for breakfast and brunch in Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Truckee, Las Vegas, Modesto, and soon in San Antonio! Maybe you’re the kind of person who pairs your cocoa with a stack of unique pancakes, or maybe you go straight for one of our famous omelettes (we’ve been called the best omelettes on the planet, and we’re not complaining). However you brunch, that mountain of whipped cream is there as your cozy sidekick.
We like to think that our hot chocolate says a lot about us as a brand. It’s fun. It’s nostalgic. It’s a little over the top in the best way. It’s made to be shared, photographed, and remembered.
